I’ve been using DR DDT Bass Strings for a long time. I especially like using them with 5-String basses that need a tighter, punchier, B string. It also helps the E string too. I also use them when I need to tune my bass down a 1/2 step or am using a Hipshot D-Tuner. The DDT’s have a little more tension than the other DR Strings, this helps them feel as if they’re at normal tension when dropped down. I’m using my Colibri JBT 5 with Nordstrand Big Singles, both pickups on and passive tone all of the way up for the demo, the Nordstrand preamp is on but completely flat for this demo. I recorded direct through my A-Designs REDDI, Universal Audio 2-1176 straight into Logic Audio via my Apogee Duet all connected with Tsunami cables. The String guages are 45-65-85-105-125.
